At RecklessMods, we provide full, professional-grade Nintendo Switch modding services, focused mainly on Nintendo Switch V1 models but also offering solutions for V2, Lite, and OLED models. Every system is handled with expert care, including free external cleaning and detailed status reporting.

Supported Models & Modding Types

  • Switch V1 (HAC-001) – Full RCM exploit, permanent CFW possible with Atmosphère and Hekate.

  • Switch V2, Lite, OLED – Require modchip install; softmod is not possible. We do not do any modchip install at he moment.

Not sure which model you have? We’ll check your serial number and determine the best option automatically.

Included Software & Features

Every modded system comes pre-installed with:

  • Atmosphère CFW + Hekate Bootloader – The industry-standard custom firmware for Switch.

  • Homebrew Menu & Utilities – Access to a wide range of homebrew apps.

  • Optional Games & Emulation Setup (Extra $50) – We do our very best to add as many titles and emulators as your microSD card allows, leaving free space for your future installs.

Lakka Installation (Linux-Based RetroArch OS):

  • Lakka installation on Switch is an optional add-on.

  • It provides a Linux-based RetroArch environment with advanced emulation capabilities (including GameCube).

  • This requires a separate microSD card dedicated to Lakka.

  • GameCube Game Support – Only available through the Lakka installation package. Adding GameCube games is not included in the Lakka price — it’s counted as part of the Optional Games & Emulation Setup ($50) add-on.

  • If you want GameCube titles, you’ll need both the Lakka installation option and the games/emulation add-on.

NAND Backup Policy:

  • Free Software-Level Backup (V1 Only) – For supported Switch V1 models, we perform a full NAND backup via Hekate as part of your modding process. This is included at no extra cost and we provide a secure Google Drive link so you can download and store it.

  • Hardware-Level Backup ($200+) – For bricked units, modchip installs, or systems where a software dump isn’t possible, we offer a full hardware-level NAND backup. This involves disassembly, direct chip access, and specialized equipment. Only performed when necessary or upon request.

You will receive full directions on how to use everything properly.

Cleaning & Premium Services

Free External Cleaning – Every Switch we work on receives a complimentary outside cleaning for a polished look.

Premium Deep Cleaning ($50) – Complete inside-and-out cleaning:

  • Full disassembly

  • Dust removal from every part

  • Joy-Con rail cleaning

  • Thermal paste replaced with high-quality compound

  • All components inspected for wear/damage

  • System reassembled and tested

Turnaround Times

  • Same-Day Service – $75

  • 1–2 Day Service – $50

  • Standard Turnaround – Included at no extra cost

We inspect every system upon arrival. If we find additional issues, we’ll contact you immediately to discuss repair options or proceed with your requested service.

Disclaimer: While we strive to meet all advertised turnaround times, there may be situations where we are backed up or short-staffed. If you purchase the same-day or 1–2 day service, we will do our absolute best to complete your order within the selected timeframe, but delays may occur during high-volume periods. Additionally, if you request specific games, emulation setups, a Lakka installation, or a hardware-level NAND backup that we do not already have prepared, it may take additional time to complete your order. We appreciate your understanding.

Shipping Policy

  • Customer Pays Shipping to Us – Unless your total service is over $120, then shipping both ways is free.

  • We Pay Return Shipping – Always included, regardless of service level.

  • Free Shipping Both Ways Over $120 – If your service total exceeds $120, we’ll cover the cost to send the system to us and back to you.

What to Include in Your Package

To ensure a smooth modding process, please include:

  • Your Switch console 

  • Joy Cones
  • OEM Switch Charger

  • MicroSD card you currently use (so we can transfer your data)

  • A note with your name, return address, and email (for instructions and your Google Drive link)

  • A list of specific requests (games, emulators, Lakka setup, hardware-level backup, extras)

Optional Add-Ons

  • Games & Emulation Setup ($50) – As many games as possible to fill your microSD with space left for future additions

  • Lakka Installation (Linux-Based RetroArch) – Dedicated microSD card required

  • GameCube Games – Only via Lakka installation and counted as part of Games & Emulation Setup ($50)

  • Hardware-Level NAND Backup ($200+) – Full disassembly and direct chip read for advanced backups or recovery

  • Storage Upgrades – Larger microSD cards or external storage

  • Modchip Install (V2/Lite/OLED) – Professional install of supported chips

  • Custom Paint Jobs / Hydro Dipping / LEDs – Aesthetic upgrades

If your console needs additional repairs, we’ll notify you first. Payment for repairs can be discussed later, or we can proceed with the requested service only.
